Scenario Location Rules
Avoid Escalation: Do not intentionally escalate or move active scenarios to areas where the group size limit will be exceeded (e.g., gang turf, NPC hostile areas, or areas of known conflicts). Stay where the scenario started.
Hostages
No Fake Hostages: Fake hostages are not allowed. Plan accordingly and ensure all hostages are genuine.
No Friends as Hostages: Friends cannot be used as hostages.
Roleplay Requirements for Hostages: You must have active roleplay to pick up a hostage. Simply saying “Hey, you’re my hostage now” is insufficient. You need to use a weapon or make them fear for their life.
Good Example: A robber uses a weapon to intimidate a bystander, saying, “Don’t move! You’re coming with us, or I’ll hurt you.” The hostage reacts with fear and complies.
Bad Example: A player picks a friend to roleplay as a hostage without genuine fear or conflict, or they say, “You’re my hostage now,” without any effort to engage.
Robbery Guidelines
Planning and Execution: Robbing (stores, banks, trucks, ATMs, etc.) should involve planning and creative execution. Avoid basic or unrealistic actions, such as robbing and fleeing without a plan.
Timing Restrictions: Major robberies (e.g., banks, jewelry stores) are prohibited 30 minutes before or after a server (storm) restart. This ensures there is enough time for the full scene to take place.
Storm Schedule: Storms occur daily at 4AM and 4PM EST.
Unscheduled Restarts or Crashes: In the event of an unscheduled server crash or restart, please wait 15 minutes before committing any major crimes.
Initiation Rules
Roleplay Before Shooting: Shooting must be preceded by meaningful initiation and roleplay. Use words and actions to escalate the situation, ensuring all participants are involved in a believable and immersive scenario. Random or unprovoked shooting is strictly prohibited. There must be a valid in-character reason to escalate to violence.
Example of Proper Roleplay: A player confronts another, stating, "This is our turf. You either leave now, or we’ll make you regret staying," before drawing a weapon to intimidate or escalate the scene.
Example of Powergaming: A player immediately opens fire without any dialogue or action that gives others an opportunity to react or participate meaningfully.
No Out-of-Character Agreements: Out-of-character (OOC) agreements do not count as initiation. Confrontations must occur in person or be agreed upon in-character (IC) beforehand.
Metagaming Clarification: Using OOC knowledge in-character is considered metagaming and is strictly prohibited. Your character can only act on information they have obtained through in-character interactions or roleplay. Examples of metagaming include:
Hearing about an ongoing robbery in an OOC chat or Discord and showing up in-game to intervene.
Using a player’s stream or external information to locate their in-character position.
Knowing another player’s name or affiliations without your character having learned it through roleplay.
Emphasis on Fair Play: Powergaming—using unfair tactics or mechanics to force an outcome—disrupts immersion and is prohibited. Examples include ambushing without giving others time to react, trapping others with unrealistic demands, or initiating violence without genuine roleplay justification.
Player Robbery Rules
Thorough Roleplay Required: You may rob other players, but it must involve thorough roleplay. Avoid abusing mechanics such as the "raise hands" feature.
In-Character Motive: Robbing solely to steal belongings is not allowed; there must be a valid in-character motive.
Limit Inventory Theft: Take only what is necessary. Do not completely empty a player's inventory (pocket wipe) unless the scenario justifies it.
Powergaming and Exploitation
No "Taxing" or "Farming": "Taxing" or "farming" known locations or hotspots (e.g., drug-selling spots or popular loot areas) is considered powergaming and is prohibited.
Avoid Exploitation: Do not exploit mechanics or loopholes to gain an unfair advantage.
Whitelisted Gang Missions
No External Assistance: For whitelisted gang missions, only the members who initiated the mission are allowed to participate in and complete the scene. External members or additional players cannot join an active scenario related to the mission.
Bodycam Usage
In-Character Use Only: Just because you are streaming or using recording software does not automatically mean you have a "bodycam."
Roleplay Requirements: To use a bodycam in roleplay, your character must physically wear one or explicitly mention its presence during the roleplay situation.
General Crime Guidelines
Creative Roleplay: Use creativity and effort in planning criminal activities. Mindless or repetitive crimes that lack roleplay quality will result in penalties.
Avoid Chaining Crimes: Do not chain crimes or engage in repetitive behaviors that disrupt server balance or realism.
Pursuit Intervention Restriction: During an active police pursuit involving a fellow group member, no more than 2 additional civilian or criminal vehicles may join the pursuit to assist or interfere. This aligns with the police guidelines, which permits police vehicle involvement during active pursuits.
Example: If a group member is being pursued by law enforcement, only up to 2 other vehicles from the group may enter the pursuit to aid or divert the police.
Appearance Change Restrictions
Physical Appearance:
Rule: You are prohibited from making drastic changes to your physical appearance (e.g., beard, hair, tattoos) until 45 minutes after concluding a crime scene.
Purpose: This ensures continuity and realism in roleplay, preventing immediate alterations that could disrupt immersion.
Clothing:
Rule: You cannot change your clothes until 15 minutes after the scene has concluded (i.e., after successfully evading police).
Purpose: This maintains consistency in character portrayal and allows law enforcement a fair opportunity to recognize individuals involved in recent criminal activities.
Engagement During Hostile Scenarios
Immersive Interactions: Create immersive interactions by involving all participants in the dialogue and progression of the scenario.
Meaningful Engagement: Avoid prolonged silences; engage hostages or victims meaningfully to enhance the roleplay experience.
By following these guidelines, players contribute to a balanced, immersive, and enjoyable roleplay experience.
